The problem

When Waters Corporation looked to create a Mass Spectrometry center in Greater Manchester, their new build required various passive fire protection.

The solution

The project required steel work protection and void barriers to meet building regulations and to preserve as much of the building and its contents should the worst happen. By fitting beam cladding and intumescent paints, the structural steel has been protected throughout the whole building.

The outcome

The fire stopping and cavity barriers installed in the compartment walls will assist in slowing the spread of fire by containing a fire for up to 60minutes in the hope the fire can be extinguished before further damage can be done. All of the above, inclusive of all air sealing to the building envelope, have been completed as per building regulation requirements.
